The MEU Marines and sailors faced multiple decision making scenarios common to today?s military. Food service specialists aboard USS Tarawa cooked teriyaki steak, lobster tails, crab legs, rice pilaf, grilled asparagus and double baked potatoes with melted cheese. The meal that included cake and ice cream and drinks were served by senior staff noncommissioned officers and officers as a way to show their appreciation for junior Marines and sailors. FOAMMULAH ATOLL, Maldives (Dec. 20, 2007) ? Cpl. Eleazar Zamano, ambulance driver, from Combat Logistics Battalion 11, 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit (Special Operations Capable), Camp Pendleton, Calif., acts as a mock patient for a Maldives National Defence Force medic during a combat lifesavers course here. Members of the MEU medical team trained 108 Maldivian medical personnel in advanced trauma and advance cardiac life support and 15 MNDF medics from Dec. 12-20 here.
