Unit HomeLegacyResourcesEqual Opportunity

Every Marine and Sailor in the 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit has the right to be treated with dignity and respect regardless of race, color, religion, gender, age, sexual orientation, or national origin. To be an effective unit we must bond together with team spirit and against negative individual actions that intend to disrupt a professional climate.

TRUST
Embrace our diversity as we build a cohesive fighting team. Discrimination is unlawful and inconsistent with our core values of honor, courage and commitment. Build a foundation of trust by your actions, words and expectations. These contribute to a positive and professional climate. There is no room for discrimination when striving for greatness, those responsible for actions countering this policy will be held accountable.

PRIDE
Take pride in your unit by ensuring negative actions are addressed quickly. Anyone who feels they have not been treated fairly due to any form of discrimination shall report the incident immediately through the chain of command via one of the following two methods:

  • The Informal Resolution System – which allows for quick and full resolution at the lowest possible level by addressing the issue directly with the person demonstrating the behavior or by seeking a third party to intervene.

  •  The Formal Method – Request Mast. This is the preferred method for addressing formal complaints of discrimination, to include sexual harassment.

Individuals who file a legitimate complaint will not be subject to any form of reprisal.

COMMITMENT
I expect all Marines and Sailors who are part of the 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit to demonstrate our commitment to equal opportunity. Ensure you and your fellow warrior’s actions are legal, moral and ethical.
