Cpl. Jeff R. Ahlers (left), Sgt. Richard E. Williamson (center) and Cpl. Casey M. Harris move generators staged aboard USS Pearl Harbor Nov. 18. The battalion is the logistics combat element for the 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit, which embarked USS Makin Island, USS New Orleans and USS Pearl Harbor in San Diego Nov. 14 beginning a seven-month deployment through the western Pacific and Middle East regions. Williamson, 27, an Orange, Mass., native, is the combat engineer chief with the battalion. Ahlers, 29, hails from Petaluma, Calif., and Harris, 20, hails from East Helena, Mont. Ahlers and Harris serve as combat engineers.
