A sailor with Assault Craft Unit 1, guides the driver of an M1A1 Abrams Main Battle Tank, 1st Tank Battalion Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center Twentynine Palms, Calif., into position to be secured to the deck of a landing craft aboard Camp Pendleton, Calif. Feb 23. This training is in preparation for part of Exercise Iron Fist, a bilateral training exercise between Marines and sailors of the 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit and Japanese Ground Self Defense Force, Western Army Infantry Regiment soldiers. The exercise is designed to enhance interoperability and build amphibious capabilities.
