Free dresses will be given out during the 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit’s family event at the San Luis Rey Marine Corps Family Team Building Family Readiness Center Sept. 21. Kyp Hughes, the unit’s family readiness officer, collected more than 80 ball gowns for the 11th MEU’s Marine Corps Birthday Ball. Hughes received the new and gently used dresses from the Camp Pendleton Armed Services YMCA. The ASYMCA Camp Pendleton holds a ball gown giveaway once a year.
