Boys wait beside a soccer field as their country’s team plays against U.S. service members Oct. 18 at the national soccer stadium here. Timor-Leste’s secretary of youth and sports said the game was intended to promote peace and stability in the region. Timor Leste won 4-0. Some U.S. team members are Marines serving with the 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit, which deployed Sept. 24 from San Diego.
