Frank Martinez instructs children, using costumes, on what it was like to be a Spanish Escolta during the 1700s as part of the second annual Mission Days Festival here April 4. Marines and sailors with the 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit volunteered more than 325 hours to beautify the grounds of the mission, the third-oldest in the state. The MEU Marines and sailors volunteered everyday from March 26 – April 6.
