Pfc. Dominic A. Cavadias, 19, from Mukwonago, Wis., defends himself from simulated aggressors after being sprayed in the face with pepper spray during nonlethal weapons training here March 9. Participating were Marines from Battery A, 1st Battalion, 11th Marine Regiment, and Companies F and G of 2nd Battalion, 4th Marine Regiment. They will deploy with the 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit later this year. The Marines conducted the training for certification to carry capsicum oleoresin, which is used in aerosol sprays to temporarily disable aggressors.
