BARISAL, Bangladesh (Dec. 7, 2007) ? (Left) HM2 Eric J. Larson, a special amphibious reconnaissance corpsman, and Cpl. Andrew Perryman, set up satellite communications with higher headquarters prior to changing into civilian attire during a helicopter landing zone survey mission during a humanitarian assistance and relief operation in Bangladesh. Larson and Perryman are from 1st Platoon, Company A, 1st Reconnaissance Battalion, or ?Alpha One? as it is known in the Recon community. Alpha One is part of the 1st Marine Division but is attached to the Battalion Landing Team 1st Battalion, 5th Marine Regiment, 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit (Special Operations Capable), Camp Pendleton, Calif. The 11th MEU (SOC) is on a deployment through the Western Pacific Ocean and Arabian Gulf region. Perryman is from Illinois and Larson, is from Tieton, Wash.
