A Marine with Marine Special Operations Battalion, 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit, Camp Pendleton, Calif., prepares to fast-rope down the ?hell hole? of a CH-46E Sea Knight helicopter Naval Air Station, North Island, San Diego during Training in Urban Environment Exercise. The training is designed to fine tune skills they will need if they are inserted into a combat or crisis situation in an environment where helicopter landings are impractical. The exercise was administered by Special Operations Training Group, I Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Pendleton, Calif., and is just one segment of a larger urban combat training evolution designed to prepare the MEU for their upcoming deployment later this year.
