The desert ULCANS replaces the Desert Lightweight Camouflage Screen System in use since the 1970s. The new cammie netting is easier to assemble and disassemble and doesn?t snag on as many things as the old one did, said McDaniels. Marines and sailors from MSSG-11 security, communications, medical, motor transport, utilities and other support detachments set up the FOB to serve as the central distribution and re-supply point of food, water, medical and other materials for the HAO site.
