SLIDELL, LA- Lance Corporal Willie A. John with the 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit Service Support Group-11 (MSSG-11), Head Quarters Detachment, Food Service, consolidates broken branches at the front of a small home in Slidell, Louisiana. Marines from the MSSG-11 have been working hard restoring the small town to more livable conditions by breaking down fallen trees, removing debris, and even hauling out furniture from houses ruined by hurricane Katrina. The group, made of 17 Marines, has five houses to clean today, September 12.The Marines arrived on September 6 and will remain in Slidell, providing support for Joint Task Force Katrina, until returning to Camp Pendleton upon completion of their mission.
