A Japan Ground Self-Defense Force soldier fires at a target while his spotter observes the impact, during an unknown distance course of fire, aboard Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, Calif., Jan 28, 2016. As a part of Exercise Iron Fist, the training - facilitated by 1st Marine Division’s Pre-Scout Sniper Course - tested the JGSDF soldiers’ abilities to accurately identify the distance of a target, adjust their sights to make a well placed shot in a short period of time.
