U.S. Marine Staff Sgt. Matthew Solowynsky, chief instructor with 1st Marine Division School’s Pre-Scout Sniper Course, observes the accuracy of a Japan Self-Defense Force Soldier’s shot, during an unknown distance course of fire, aboard Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, Calif., Jan. 28, 2016. This training was a part of Exercise Iron Fist, which in the short span of a decade, has allowed the USMC and JGSDF to come together and conduct amphibious operations at the platoon, company, and battalion level.
