A Japan Ground Self-Defense Force soldier sites in on a target at an unknown distance range aboard Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, Calif., Jan. 28, 2016. Over the next several weeks JGSDF soldiers will be working with their U.S. Marine counterparts during Exercise Iron Fist, an annual, bilateral training exercise that enables Japanese soldiers to train with Marines on American soil, to improve the planning, communicating, and conducting of combined amphibious operations.
