Potter, a machinegunner with Fox Co. BLT 2/1, 11th MEU, and Mount Washington, Kentucky native, aboard the USS Makin Island (LHD 8), Oct. 7. The 11th MEU is deployed with the Makin Island Amphibious Ready Group as a theater reserve and crisis response force throughout U.S. Central Command and the U.S 5th fleet area of responsibility.
