A Marine with the Combat Cargo department, USS San Diego, takes down the name and information of a National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) researcher in the well deck of the USS San Diego, Aug. 8, 2014 Marines and sailors from the 11th MEU and Makin Island Amphibious Ready Group team recovered 11 personnel from three isolated islands more than 900 nautical miles northwest of Hawaii and directly in the path of Hurricane Iselle.
