Sailors with the USS San Diego and Marines with the 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit return to the USS San Diego on rigid inflatable boats with recovered researchers with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration as part of a recovery mission, Aug. 8, 2014. Marines and sailors from the 11th MEU and Makin Island Amphibious Ready Group team recovered 11 personnel from three isolated islands more than 900 nautical miles northwest of Hawaii and directly in the path of Hurricane Iselle.
