Marines with the Force Reconnaissance Detachment, 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit, fire their M4 carbines during a close quarters tactics range on the flight deck of the USS San Diego as part of Certification Exercise (CERTEX) off the coast of Southern California, June 15, 2014. These exercises keep the Marines operationally ready and hone their skills in combat marksmanship. CERTEX serves as the final at-sea period for the 11th MEU and Amphibious Squadron 5.
