A sailor with the USS San Diego scans the water through an AN/PVS-8 long range night vision sight as part of a strait transit exercise conducted during Certification Exercise (CERTEX) off the coast of Southern California, June 14, 2014. CERTEX serves as the final at-sea period for the 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit and Amphibious Squadron 5.
