Sailors with the USS San Diego air department hook a cargo pallet on an MH-60S Sea Hawk with Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron 23 (HSC-23) as part of a vertical replenishment exercise from the flight deck during Certification Exercise (CERTEX) off the coast of Southern California, June 18, 2014. CERTEX is comprised of a specific series of missions intended to evaluate and certify the 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit for their upcoming deployment with the Makin Island Amphibious Ready Group scheduled for later this summer.
