Marines with Fox Company, Battalion Landing Team 2nd Battalion, 1st Marines, 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit, (prepare to leave the flight deck of the USS Makin Island en route to San Luis Obispo, California to provide security for the Forward Security Element (FCE) during Certification Exercise (CERTEX) off the coast of Southern California, June 11, 2014. CERTEX serves as the final at-sea period for the 11th MEU and Amphibious Squadron 5.
