Military Sealift Command fleet replenishment oiler USNS Yukon refuels both the USS Makin Island left, and the USS Freedom, right as part of an underway replenishment exercise conducted during Composite Training Unit Exercise (COMPTUEX) off the coast of San Diego, May 12, 2014. COMPTUEX is the second at-sea period during the 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit and Makin Island Amphibious Ready Group joint predeployment training program, during which they will refine mission-related operations and blue-green communication.
