A sailor with Amphibious Squadron (PHIBRON) 5 fires an M240G medium machine gun at a balloon target floating in the water during a small craft action team (SCAT) live-fire prequalification training exercise aboard the USS San Diego during Composite Training Unit Exercise (COMPTUEX) off the coast of San Diego, May 12, 2014. The 11th MEU and Amphibious Squadron 5 team conduct COMPTUEX to hone mission essential tasks, execute specified MEU and ARG operations, and establish the foundation for a cohesive warfighting team for future exercises and operations.
