A landing craft air cushion (LCAC) lands on Red Beach after launching from the USS Makin Island during Composite Training Unit Exercise (COMPTUEX) off the coast of San Diego, May 8, 2014. COMPTUEX serves as the second at-sea period for the 11th MEU, in which the unit will focus on the enabling and supporting functions necessary for success during full mission profiles operations during the upcoming deployment.
