Sgt. Jacob Hunter, a field wireman with the 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit, gets pinned on by his wife as part of a promotion ceremony here May 2. To be meritoriously promoted, a Marine must do everything within his ability to stand out among his peers. Hunter understood that concept and was meritoriously promoted to sergeant within three and a half years of service. “All the hard work has payed off at the end of the day,” said Hunter, the 21-year-old, Wilson, Pa., native. “It all comes down to doing your job and being the best at everything you do, while looking out for the Marines you’re responsible for.”
