Department of Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff meets with Brig. Gen. James Melin, 452nd Air Mobility Wing commander, after his plane landed at March Air Reserve Base last week. Secretary Chertoff visited the Air and Marine Operations Coordination Center, a unit under his department. It was his first visit to the base and AMOCC. After the tour, the Secretary flew to Los Angeles for a press availability on port security with Congresswoman Jane Harman and observed a demonstration of the Advanced Spectroscopic Portal technology at Long Beach, Calif.
