A sailor serving with Combat Logistics Battalion 11 receives the Fleet Marine Force pin during a ceremony aboard USS Makin Island Feb. 1. The pin signifies a sailor’s measured knowledge of Marines Corps history and training, as well as advanced knowledge in combat medicine. The battalion provides logistics and services to the 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit. The unit is deployed as part of the Makin Island Amphibious Ready Group, a U.S. Central Command theater reserve force providing support for maritime security operations and theater security cooperation efforts in the U.S. Navy's 5th Fleet area of responsibility.
