Marines with Battalion Landing Team 3/1, 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit, practice fast roping here June 13. These Marines will serve as the unit’s maritime raid force during their deployment later this year. Fast roping is a rope sliding technique used to quickly descend from a helicopter to a landing zone without the aircraft touching the ground.
