First Lt. Jerome Borden (left) and Lance Cpl. Nathaniel Seavecki perform radio checks prior to conducting a mock raid at U.S. Army Yuma Proving Ground, Ariz., Aug. 15. The raid was the second ship-to-shore assault conducted by Battalion Landing Team 2/4, 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit, during its certification exercise, the last at-sea training before the MEU deploys. Borden is Company E’s executive officer and Seavecki is a radio operator with the company.
