Chief Warrant Officer 3 Gary Reed from 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit receives a distinguished shooting badge here March 20 from Col. Philippe D. Rogers, Headquarters and Service Battalion commanding officer. Reed, the MEU's chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear defense officer, placed second in individual pistol shooting during the Western division matches of the Corps' Competition-In-Arms Program. These rifle and pistol marksmanship matches consist of individual and team competitions. The Far East and Pacific divisions held their matches earlier this year in Okinawa, Japan; and Hawaii, respectively. The Eastern division match, held at Camp Lejeune, N.C., was scheduled to end April 3. Lejeune will host the championship match April 6-24, where the top division finishers will compete.
