Pfc. Brayden Blackmon, a machine gunner with Echo Company, Battalion Landing Team 2nd Battalion, 1st Marines (BLT 2/1), 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit, and a Boise, Idaho native, fires an M249B squad automatic weapon during a company-sized mechanized assault training as part of Composite Training Unit Exercise (COMPTUEX) aboard Camp Pendleton, Calif., May 11. COMPTUEX allows the elements of the 11th MEU to execute full mission profiles and employ supporting agencies to advance integration during the predeployment training program.
