Colonel Caleb Hyatt is a native of Tamarac, Florida. He was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant following graduation with merit from the United States Naval Academy in May 2001.

Colonel Hyatt’s command positions include Guns Platoon Commander, Battery S, 5th Battalion, 10th Marines; Headquarters Battery Commander, 5th Battalion, 11th Marines; Battery R Commander, 5th Battalion, 11th Marines; and Commanding Officer, 2d Battalion, 11th Marines.

Colonel Hyatt’s staff assignments include tours as Artillery Forward Observer and Executive Officer, Battery S, 5th Battalion, 10th Marines; Group Fire Support Officer, G-3 Training Officer, Assistant Current Operations Officer, and Combat Skills Training Schools Officer-In-Charge, 2d Marine Logistics Group; G-3 Plans Officer, 2d Marine Division; Operations Officer, 2d Battalion, 10th Marines; Operations Officer, 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU); Junior Military Assistant to the Secretary of Defense; and Strategy Branch Head, Headquarters US Marine Corps, Plans, Policies, and Operations.

Colonel Hyatt has deployed in support of Operations IRAQI FREEDOM and ENDURING FREEDOM with artillery, light armored reconnaissance, and logistics units. He has also deployed to Okinawa, Japan, as part of the Unit Deployment Program. With the 26th MEU, Colonel Hyatt conducted Defense Support to Civil Authorities in the US Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico following Hurricanes Irma and Maria and deployed to Europe and the Middle East to provide a forward expeditionary naval presence and support named operations, maritime security, crisis response, and theater security cooperation.

Colonel Hyatt holds a BS in Computer Science, MA in Management, MMAS in Theater Operations, and an MS in National Security Strategy. In addition to The Basic School, he graduated with honors from the Field Artillery Officer’s Basic Course, Expeditionary Warfare School, US Army Command and General Staff College, and the School of Advanced Military Studies. Colonel Hyatt is also a 2023 distinguished graduate from the National War College.

Colonel Hyatt is married to the former Becky Hennig of Itasca, IL. They have three children: Clara, Caleb Jr, and Joseph.
